Chocolate and Ice Cream tour
Tuscany, and Florence in particular, had a very important role in the introduction and diffusion of chocolate in Italy. Chocolate used to be drunk in the form of hot liquid cream and the Medici family loved this nectar as soon as they tasted it. Cosimo III got his personal scientist to create a special new blend, the recipe of which was guarded as a Medici “state secret”. This is the special jasmine chocolate recipe, known as the “Granduke recipe”, that has been recreated by the Vestri family and that you can taste with us in the Vestri laboratory in Florence. In the morning we’ll visit the laboratory Urzi with demonstration and tasting. Then we’ll have a light lunch in Ghianda Restaurant. After lunch we’ll move on to the Vestri Ice cream laboratory, for demonstration and tasting.

- 10:00 Meeting at Dante monument in S.Croce Square or at your hotel in Florence
- 10:30 Visit to the Urzi chocolate and ice-cream laboratory. Guided chocolate tasting
- 11:30 Guided ice-cream tasting in Urzi laboratory
- 13:00 Lunch at La Cucina del Ghianda Restaurant with its fabulous desserts
- 14:30 Visit to Vestri ice cream laboratory and ice cream tasting
- 16:00 You are back to your location
Day program (10:00 – 16:00) includes: English-speaking guide, guided visits with tastings, lunch with a Tuscan menu and wine.
