Andrea Moradei

Andrea Moradei is the founder of Vinarium, a Florence-based agency focused on high-quality wine and cultural tourism across Tuscany and Italy. With a Master’s degree in Philosophy, Andrea applies a clear, structured approach to wine, food, and cultural travel – fields in which he has worked for over four decades.
His professional path began in 1980, when he co-founded Koinè, a center for teaching Italian language and culture to foreigners. This marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to cultural education through direct experience.
His interest in wine began early: as a teenager, Andrea enrolled in his first course with the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS). Years later, he was admitted to the Master’s program in Wine Business Management at the University of Florence’s Department of Agronomy, a recognition of his strong background in wine and hospitality, though he chose not to attend due to limited availability at the time.
Over the years, Andrea has led hundreds of tastings, visited dozens of historic and emerging wine estates, and built close relationships with top producers across Italy – earning a reputation as a trusted guide for travelers and wine professionals alike.
In 1996, he opened Enoteca de’ Giraldi in Florence – a wine bar and restaurant that quickly became a meeting place for those interested in wine tasting, local cuisine, and themed activities such as cooking classes and guided wine tours.
In 2003, he founded Vinarium, with the goal of sharing the best of Italy’s food and wine traditions through curated experiences. Just a year later, Vinarium received the Best of Wine Tourism Award from Great Wine Capitals, recognizing its excellence in this field.
In 2010, Andrea founded Centro Italiano Firenze, an Italian language school that works with international students from around the world, further extending his work in cultural exchange and education.
Today, Vinarium organizes private tastings, cooking classes in historic settings, and winery visits not only in Tuscany, but across several Italian regions. All experiences are built on knowledge, local connections, and a deep respect for regional culture.
